AQUAT I C GALLERY – AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT Durability and aesthetics – the perfect combination! India’s biggest public aquarium, with a 360 degree view of the main tank and a 28-metre unique walkway tunnel offers a mesmerising journey of ten different zones comprising the Indian Zone, Asian Zone, African Zone, American Zone, Oceans of the World and others. Located in Science City, Ahmedabad, it gives tourists a spectacular underwater experience. The aquarium houses cutting- edge life support equipment for 188 different fish species. The tanks have the capacity to keep around 11,600 fishes and one of its main attraction is the sharks. A touch pool on the first level also allows guests to touch fish and closely observe their beauty. The unique 5D theatre gives you an edge-of-the-seat thrill experience. Nuvoco supplied a special concrete Concreto Agile M35 grade in a light grey colour for the exposed wall of the Atrium . The wall had curved and inclined surfaces which needed special concrete that will enhance its aesthetics with a light grey tint and increase its durability while offering the highest quality grade concrete. The project was developed by Nuvoco’s Client Shapoorji & Pallonji in conjunction with the architecture firm INI Studio and design consultant Ducon.
